Vague memories

“The last stroke of midnight dies.
All day in the one chair
From dream to dream and rhyme to rhyme I have ranged
In rambling talk with an image of air:
Vague memories, nothing but memories.

Cruising Day One….

As most of you know we have been G.O.N.E.  cruising the wide open seas.  Well, not really wide open, but when you look out of the boat window and there is no land in site for hours, it seems pretty wide open.  This was my dream trip.  Seriously, I have dreamed of seeing these places since I was a kid.  Most of them are on my “Life List.”  (Way before the “Bucket List” came out, I started a “Life List” which is basically the same thing.  Remember I love to make Lists!)  We got to share all of it with some dear friends, and really it would never have been possible without them.

We started out on a Sunday evening and rode the bus all night to end up at the port of Savona, Italy.  It was a little while before we could board the Boat.  And the Big Man had just finished up his second marathon and was going to meet us there. So we had time to view the port city.   I was pretty tired and just really excited to get on the boat so I didn’t explore Savona as much as I should have.  But I did find this beautiful little alley.

We then went to the beach to collect sea glass.  I had just finished reading “Sea Glass” and have to say that this 45 minutes of beach time, just might have been my most favorite part of the whole two weeks.  It’s the little things I tell ya!

And these two little monkeys….love them both, had more fun on the boat playing PSP than anything else.

The seas were really rough.  Our boat rocked and rolled all night that first night.  I didn’t think a boat that big could be moved, but I was wrong.  Day two was spent at sea…still rocking and rolling.  Fun time getting to know the ship and the people who worked there.

We were hoping to stop at Olympia, but the seas were so rough that we couldn’t even port.  I mean we were rocking and rolling!

So we skipped that and headed towards Athens.  BUT!  As you know there was a little action going on in Athens the past couple of weeks so we had to skip that port also.  But don’t worry, we hit it on the return trip.  So Day two was also a sea day in the end.  Nice and relaxing.

Next Stop…Izmir.  Stay tuned.

Blog Block

Don’t you just hate it when you find a blog that you like, and then suddenly they stop posting?  Or better yet, are so inconsistent that you really start to get board with it?

Really, I don’t know what it is about this thing, but for some reason I have “Blog Block”.  I think I have all the words running around in my brain, and I want the words to go with the pictures, so that you will understand just how much they mean to me, and THEN I try to put all that down, and it never comes out right.

So yeah, “BLOG BLOCK”…how to over come that?  That is the big question.  (I think in my own mind, I’m some kind of famous writer…LOL!)

In the mean time,

I grabbed the two up right before they flew out.

Really the cutest relationship between mother and son I’ve ever seen.

And guess what!?  It really did snow this time.
