Cause this kid totally cracks me up!

And he just came and whispered in my ear, ” I love you so much!  Even more than Dad.”  and then went and whispered in the big Man’s ear, “I love you more than Mom.”  Then later told me that he did it, but “only cause I didn’t want Dad to feel left out!”

#6

Yes, I have the bestest Hubby in the world.  Really!  He takes me places…cool places.  Awesome places.  And helps me knock some things off my list.

My birthday weekend could not have been more perfect.  I’m so glad that I took pictures cause I would swear it was a dream.  We had the most gracious hosts, and made us feel so comfortable and took us to the coolest places!  Thanks so much B and M (and little J and E!)…I was a blast and we are planning on going back at the end of May.  Just a little heads up.  LOL!

So #6 on the list.

Pure happiness and just so beautiful.  I’ve never seen anything like it, and it was perfect for a birthday.  The little man said that he didn’t get me flowers for my birthday, he got me a whole field!

Totally perfect, makes me tear up.

You’d think it was spring break or something…

But spring break was totally nasty here.  And today!!  Today was beautiful!  I even put on flip flops and laughed at my super white legs.  Think I’m going to go for a walk later.

My birthday weekend was fab-o!  I have pictures to show for it of course, but more on that later.  Let’s just say I have a whole new “favorite” country.

Right now I’m working on this…

Lists (or Birthdays, or Birthday lists)

Here is something that you might not know about me:  I love birthdays.  Now if you are S from Oki (who is going to be moving here soon!) you will know this little fact very well.  And I’m really super excited that she is coming back, because she knows how much I love birthday’s and I know that she will plan me another surprise birthday and continue to feed my birthday love addiction.  (guess, you had to be there…)

See, you can celebrate Christmas, and 4th of July and all those other holidays, but you celebrate with everyone.  When it’s your birthday, It’s ALL YOURS!  Your day!  A whole day all about you!  And you get presents, and no one else does!  And people call you from all over, just to talk to you and see how YOUR day is going.  Maybe I’m a little selfish, maybe not.  But I love birthdays, especially mine!

I also look at my birthday sorta like January 1st.   I take time to reflect over the past year, and then make plans for the next year.  My own personal resolution day of sorts.

And here is something else I love.  LISTS.  I make so many lists it would blow your mind.  I get up and make a list…and I have to write it down.  It can’t be just a mental list.  It has to be a real live list.  That is why I totally adore my little red “File of Facts.”  (don’t try and get me to change to something electronic and sleek, I already have and it just doesn’t work).

So I was surfing around and ran across someone’s blog who also likes lists and made a Birthday list.  I loved it!  So I started my own.  (if you know who this is, please tell me cause I can’t find her now!)  A list of 33 things to do before this year is over.

Here’s the list:

  1. introduce the little man to the fun of a photo booth
  2. spend more time in my bare feet in the grass this summer
  3. dance on bubble wrap
  4. make my photo’s in to post cards
  5. learn a new recipe
  6. stand in the middle of a tulip field
  7. Start a new photo project
  8. Go on a picnic with the boys (a real one with a blanket, and potato salad in a big basket)
  9. take more pictures, and by more I mean something everyday.  But I don’t want to stress over it, but I want to take more.
  10. Live in the moment
  11. take a self portrait (maybe in the mirror)
  12. write more, especially the little things
  13. sketch, paint or both
  14. fall in love with a new artist
  15. have a candle light dinner with the Big Man
  16. Shoot off fireworks, and lots of them
  17. Drink more tea in the afternoon
  18. Get up early and run on the treadmill…stop sleeping so late
  19. Grow a little herb window garden
  20. start an inspiration board
  21. eat more fruit and veggies
  22. Go Volksmarching
  23. Play more board games with the little man
  24. Have a popsicle eating contest (thanks Synde)
  25. Sew a fancy apron and wear it as I cook
  26. buy more socks from here
  27. see another Broadway play
  28. Try Escargot (yeah, I don’t know why I want to do this either)
  29. Read at least 10 new books (or stop watching so much tv)
  30. teach a workshop
  31. start a basket collection
  32. learn to garden
  33. visit Egypt/Rome (gonna do this in the fall!)

So there it is.  A list of goals for the year.  Seems pretty big, but I’m going to print it out and hang it on my door so that I can work on it and not forget it.
