KMC Senior Portraits | Daniel, Ramstein 2011

I got to meet up with Daniel and his Mom a couple of weeks back for some Senior Pictures.  Daniel is one of the Senior Representatives for this year.  He has such a quiet spirit and just let his Mom and I be the paparazzi without one complaint!  And it was his day off from work!   Such a handsome guy!

I’m so excited to be working with the Seniors this year, and even though this was a mini session, it was so much FUN!

Your Senior Portraits are timeless!  You want them to reflect you and your personality.  If you are interested in a portrait session please call or text the studio:  015.111.55.2001  Space is limited this fall, so book early!

Subtle | KMC Newborn, Baby, Child, Family Portrait Photographer

Oh Summer with your bright bold hues!  That’s always what I see when I think of summer.  RED, BLUE, YELLOW!  The brighter the better.  But spurred on by a creative class that I’m taking, I grabbed my camera in search of the “Subtle” part of summer.  Those lighter hues that get a little left behind once Summer hits.

I went to the backyard.  That wonderful place that just keeps giving and giving.  I found lots of blackberries sitting on the vine waiting to ripen.  (Today I found a recipe for blackberry Scones.  Can’t wait to try that out!)

I’m not much of a gardener.  I used to say that I had a “black thumb”, but that’s not totally true.  I just have never tried.  I think it’s a patience thing that I just haven’t developed yet.  Not patience in general, just patience with plants.  Anyway, most of my yard is, well, weeds.  Okay, so my total front yard is weeds right now.  CRAZY growing, super, fast, over-night weeds.

Spiders, Flies, and weeds grow B.I.G. and fast in Germany.  Seriously.

So, I’m in the weed patch looking for “Subtle” and I find my most favorite weed of all.

I’m pretty sure that Dr. Suess loved these too, and drew most of his characters from these guys.

If you live in Texas you call these “Wild Flowers”.   It’s that a lovely word, “Wild Flowers”…

Flowers that just go wild.

Then a little butterfly posed for me

and I realized it was totally the magic of JULY!

I love JULY!

Fizzy Lemon-aid | KMC Newborn, Baby, Child, Family Portrait Photographer

I love my coffee.  Sometimes a little too much.  I’ve been known to throw a fit when the coffee machine acts a fool and only gives me half a cup.  I’ve also been know to drive an hour and a half to Frankfurt just to go to Starbucks.   But this post isn’t about coffee.

It’s about something ELSE I’ve totally fallen in love with.  I call it Fizzy Lemon-Aid.

It’s basically Lemon-Aid mix and carbonated water.  You know, “water with gas” as all my German friends like to drink.  I personally can’t stand “water with gas” on it’s own, but with a little sugary mix and IT ROCKS MY SOCKS!  Add a little lemon peel and some fresh lemon slices and I tell you people, it’s fun in a glass!

Yeah, I know, people have been doing this for years.  I was actually introduced to it about a month ago at an LG Bar-B-Que.  But, I’m telling you, it has totally changed my liquid intake.

I love this stuff!

I love July!

Fireworks! | KMC Newborn, Baby, Child, Family Photographer

To say that I’m obsessed with fireworks is a gross underestimation.  When 4th of July fireworks are around, I get more excited than a 10 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert. (I probably scream like one too.)

I like the big booming ones.  I like them right over my head.   I like the shaped ones.  I like the shimmery ones.  I just like them!  (sometimes I watch them on Youtube.  If you do, I bet you smile too!)

My family is wonderful.  They understand my obsession, and make the necessary arrangements so that I am perfectly aligned with the action.  They also will sit for hours waiting, so that we are in the perfect spot.  This is how I know that they really love me.

It has become a little tradition for the little man and I to take a self-portrait as we are waiting for the show to start.  We started this so that we could send a little picture to Dad, and we have just continued it on.  Here is this years:

I love fireworks.

I love this little boy.

I love July!
