A Story | KMC Portrait Photographer

My husband has said it over and over, “We all have a story, hidden in there.”  Sometimes I get just a little glimpse of that story.  Sometimes I get told that story.  Sometimes after the pictures are developed that story is revealed, not only to me, but to the subject of the photograph.
The whole process can be an eye opener.  You can see yourself like you’ve never seen before.  It can be very empowering.
That happened on this day.  Stories were told and seen.  Beauty was reviled and celebrated and even found again.
But it wasn’t the subject of the photograph that found all this, and shared all this.
It was me.
So grateful to have met these wonderful ladies and share just a little of my story with them.

A little Snow | KMC Senior Portrait Photographer

I’m looking at a nice blue sky and a beautiful sunrise right now.  I’m crossing all my fingers and toes and I’m very hopeful that the worst of winter is behind us and we can slowly start looking forward to spring.  OH, I know, I’m gonna get e-mail telling me that it’s not time yet, but I believe that if we all start thinking and saying that spring is on it’s way, then it WILL get here!

I’m not much of a fan of snow or winter, but this Senior changed my mind a little!  I think this could have been the fastest shoot of all time!  She contacted me for a mini shoot now so that she could make the yearbook cut off, and then our plan is to have a longer regular session in the spring.  It just so happened  there was snow on the ground, but we went for it, and I’m SO GLAD we did!  I love how these images turned out!  She is a beauty and I can’t wait to get my camera on her this spring!

If you are a Senior in the area for 2011, it’s not too late to schedule your portrait session!  This is the an awesome way to commemorate the end of a great year and the local surroundings make for beautiful backgrounds, even in the snow!  (wink, <3)

Laughter and Giggles | KMC Family Portrait Photographer

I’ve said it before:  I L.O.V.E. connecting with clients from past sessions!  Just seeing the kids again and remembering how one  had just learned to walk and the other was just a tiny thing herself when I saw them last is amazing!    Mom’s laugh is totally infectious.  I can hear it now as I’m looking at these images!

I always wonder what kind of memory we are making at each session.  What kind of memory will they recall when looking at their images?  Will they remember how cold it was or the threat of rain?  Will they remember me jumping around and singing in my opera voice to crack a little smile?  (I hope not! )  No, they will remember the LOVE and see the connections that their family holds.  They will remember Mom’s laugh just like I do, and the little sister giggles.

That is why I love photography so much!  It becomes a memory that you can see and share over and over again.  I think today I’m going to get out the old scrapbooks and relive a few memories myself!

Love, Love, Love | KMC Portrait Photographer

It’s February!  And it’s the month of Love.  So let’s celebrate with an engagement session!

These two actually met here in Germany and even though they are leaving and getting married in the States, they wanted some nice German landscape to remember the time they had together here.  Perfect, sweet, LOVE!

Today:  I’m loving the sounds of laughter coming from the backyard, as lots of little boys jump on the trampoline and play in the sun!
