Seriously Awesome | KMC Portrait Photographer

Yesterday was a super special day at my house.
There was no big party or crazy celebration.  In fact, we got up as normal and the little man got ready for school and the big man left early for the gym and work.  I meet the big man for lunch and coffee.  Once we were all back home we did a bit of cleaning out and organizing to ready ourselves for the next move.  We ate dinner and watched TV.  Just like normal.  It was pretty perfect.
The perfect kind of celebration that the big man likes.  No fanfare.  No crowds to mess with.  Just us.
Occasionally we would look at each other and say, “19!”  Then we would give each other a “high five” and move on.

I’ve made some seriously awesome memories with this guy over the years.  We’ve also been on some seriously awesome adventures together.
I’ll say it again, We would make a seriously awesome reality show…or book.
Seriously,  Seriously Awesome! ;)

And KDP I know that you are reading this and I really think you are seriously awesome.

Please “leaf” your mark | KMC Portrait Photographer

Just want to share a fun and creative “guestbook” from a wedding I had the privilege to shoot this summer.

Instead of the traditional “sign in” type, the Bride had a friend paint a tree with lots of bare branches.  Then as the guests arrived they could choose a color of ink (in shades of green) and stamp their thumbprint as the leaves.    I thought it was great how some people made their “leaf” appear as if it was falling from the tree or even made little “leaf” piles on the ground.

So fun and creative!

-more to come from this North Dakota adventure soon!

Laughter and Giggles | KMC Family Portrait Photographer

I’ve said it before:  I L.O.V.E. connecting with clients from past sessions!  Just seeing the kids again and remembering how one  had just learned to walk and the other was just a tiny thing herself when I saw them last is amazing!    Mom’s laugh is totally infectious.  I can hear it now as I’m looking at these images!

I always wonder what kind of memory we are making at each session.  What kind of memory will they recall when looking at their images?  Will they remember how cold it was or the threat of rain?  Will they remember me jumping around and singing in my opera voice to crack a little smile?  (I hope not! )  No, they will remember the LOVE and see the connections that their family holds.  They will remember Mom’s laugh just like I do, and the little sister giggles.

That is why I love photography so much!  It becomes a memory that you can see and share over and over again.  I think today I’m going to get out the old scrapbooks and relive a few memories myself!

Love, Love, Love | KMC Portrait Photographer

It’s February!  And it’s the month of Love.  So let’s celebrate with an engagement session!

These two actually met here in Germany and even though they are leaving and getting married in the States, they wanted some nice German landscape to remember the time they had together here.  Perfect, sweet, LOVE!

Today:  I’m loving the sounds of laughter coming from the backyard, as lots of little boys jump on the trampoline and play in the sun!

Strength | KMC Portrait Photographer

I could give you the dictionary definition of STRENGTH, or I could just show you.

I could also give you about 100 different adjectives to describe this sweet little couple like:  brave, resilient, loving, sweet, etc..
They have been through a tremendous amount of obstacles in the short time they have been married, and they have come through it all.  Sure, they are a little scarred but they have learned to lean on each other.  They have become not only an example to me but to many others that know them.
D & C might not know it, but all that strength they possess, radiates out from them and you end up being a little stronger yourself.
